Devon is the home of Tony Dixon who has been making flutes, pipes and whistles for many years. An accomplished player of all three instruments, he doesn't let an instrument out of his workshop that he wouldn't be happy to play himself. He started making instruments from the traditional woods such as box, maple and cherry. Tony, however, has always been ready to experiment. This has led to the very popular range of polymer and ABS flutes and whistles. A more recent and, as it turns out, very popular innovation is the ‘Duo’ instrument with one body and two heads! This allows a quick change from flute or piccolo to high or low whistle using the same body.
