Songbird Whistles

Now available in our shop : the new line of whistles (low et soprano) from Phil Hardy. The Songbird replaces the Kerry Pro, which was his professional line of whistles (played by Mike McGoldrick and Flook, among others) and the quality of sound and craftsmanship of the Pro line are in evidence here.

Tradschool Summer Workshops

In august 2008 Tradschool organised Irish music workshops, with fiddle, uilleann pipes, Irish flute and bodhran, for 1 week in Neuvéglise (Cantal, France)

The workshops are programmed for August 2009, and will last one full week.

Mary Bergin

Tin Whistle

Dublin; Spiddal

Mary Bergin was born in Dublin in 1949, and starded playing the whistle at the age of 9, after hearing Willie Clancy (Uilleann Pipes) in concert. She moved to Spiddal, where she still lives today. She plays with Alec Finn (De Danann) and the group Dordan, and teaches the whistle.

She recorded 2 albums, the first with Alec Finn and Ringo MacDonagh, and several albums with Dordan. Her style is rapid and highly ornamented, while staying fluid and subtle.
