The Songbird replaces the Kerry Pro, which was his professional line of whistles (played by Mike McGoldrick and Flook, among others) and the quality of sound and craftsmanship of the Pro line are in evidence here.

Phil Hardy is an ex-employee of Overton, who set up by himself to create the Kerry, Chieftain, Kerry Pro and Songbird high-end whistle range.
